The Special Education Unit at Ocho Rios High School is committed to creating an inclusive, supportive and nurturing learning environment where every student is given the opportunity to reach their full potential. The unit provides specialised educational support tailored to the individual learning needs, abilities and strengths of students. Through personalised instruction, structured activities, guidance and practical learning experiences, students are encouraged to develop academically, socially, emotionally and independently.

The unit works closely with teachers, parents and other members of the school community to identify students' needs and provide appropriate interventions and support. Students are encouraged to build confidence, develop essential life skills, strengthen communication and social skills, and prepare for greater independence and future opportunities.
